Before sending out a Mobiz campaign to your customers, it’s important to review all the campaign elements and information. Reviewing enables you to make final changes and spot errors you might have missed during the setup process.
Read our list of places and elements you can review:
Campaign preview
Your campaign preview is shown within the Design, SMS, and Review stages of campaign creation and displays either the landing page or SMS depending on where you are in the process.
Check the campaign preview to ensure:
-
Your landing page has all the correct information
-
You have included a call-to-action (if you want to use one)
-
Your SMS campaigns contain your campaign landing page URL
-
A ‘STOP to opt out’ call to action is included in your SMS
-
There are no spelling or grammar errors
Top Tip: To view your landing page from the SMS campaign preview on the Review and send page, click on the URL displayed in the SMS copy.
Preview your campaign as a customer
Another useful review method is the Preview your campaign as feature. This feature lets you view your campaign as it would appear to a specific customer or using your default values. Preview your campaign as is accessed in the Review stage and can be found at the top right-side menu. Here you will be able to view both your SMS and landing page from the perspective of any contact you select.
Sending a Test SMS
Experience the full Mobiz journey as your customers would. This review feature allows you to send a test SMS based on either default contact values or using specific customer data. To receive a campaign as a certain customer, use the same drop-down menu as above to select the contact you wish to preview the campaign as.
Top Tip: A test SMS costs 1-2 credits. Save your credits by using the Preview as function and only test your campaign once you are completely satisfied with your campaign.
Checking your credits
Before sending your campaign to your customers, it’s important to ensure you have enough credits. You can view your credits in the right-side menu under Credits required. The first number in bold indicates how many credits you need to send your campaign. The second number, in brackets, shows you how many credits you have left to use.
Generally, 1 credit = 1 SMS. However, we do allow for SMS to span into a 2nd (concatenated) SMS, in which case you will be charged 2 credits per SMS sent. To be sure, check the total number of credits required as displayed in the Credits required area.
If your credits are running low, you can also purchase once-off credits through the top-up feature on the Review and send page or on the Plan details and billing page within the account management section. Alternatively, if you would like to increase your monthly credit limit, pop our chatbot a message or send an email to support@mobiz.co and our team will assist you.
Top Tip: A standard SMS is 160 characters long. To avoid using more than 1 credit per SMS, stay within this character limit by keeping your copy simple and to the point.
Checking your contact list
As the last step in the review stage, you’ll be able to review your Recipients in the right-side menu.
Here you will see either an All contacts indicator or the lists that you selected during the Audience selection step of your campaign setup. You will also be shown the total number of contacts your SMS campaign will be sent to.
If you’d like to make any edits to your contacts or change your customer lists, click the Audience tab in the top navigation.
Consider when you're sending your SMS
Don’t make the mistake of just sending out your campaign immediately after setting it up without first considering the timing. Reaching customers with the right message at the right time will significantly improve your campaign performance.
Important time-based factors to consider:
-
Location and time zone of your audience
-
SMS queuing and delivery time allowance. Once ‘Send’ is clicked, your campaign enters a queue and SMS carriers may take some time to process the campaign data to complete sending.
-
Whether your campaign includes a time-based offering
-
Allowing customers a reasonable time to act upon your offer
-
TCPA guidelines state you may not text or call a contact before 8 AM or after 9 PM, local time.
Top Tip: We suggest sending your SMS on weekdays between 9 AM and 12 PM as these tend to perform best. Read our SMS sending times article for more tips.
