First off, what even is "10DLC" ?
10DLC is a type of long code that is registered with United States carriers to support high volume A2P (automated to person) business text messaging using the 10-digit phone number format and is a local area code (i.e. 404-###-####). Unlike toll-free numbers, 10DLC supports both transactional and promotional messaging, and can include any US area code.
Why use a local number vs Toll-free?
The main benefit to utilizing a local number (10DLC) is for the local area presence which typically benefits small businesses that only operate primarily out of one or nearby area code(s). It helps distinguish local businesses vs national or multi-region businesses. Additionally full verification of the number is much quicker at <5 days vs <30 days with Toll-Free.
Pro Tip: Small businesses can experience a higher click-through rate and more redemptions of their offers by also encouraging their subscribers to save their Mobiz local number in their phones.
